Buhari’s integrity gave hope to millions of Nigerians — Tunde Bakare

Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in a London clinic at the age of 80.
Bakare in a statement, described Buhari as a dear elder statesman and compatriot, reflecting on his “extremely impactful life”.
Bakare recalled their first encounter in 1985, noting that Buhari’s policy interventions at the time paved the way for his own career as a young lawyer.
He praised Buhari’s integrity and discipline, saying he gave hope to millions of Nigerians.
Bakare highlighted Buhari’s dream of a New Nigeria, a dream he lived for and worked tirelessly towards, despite challenges.
He described Buhari as “a colossus whom there can hardly be a replacement”, praying that history would be kind to him and that the Nigeria of his dreams would emerge.
Bakare expressed deep condolences to Buhari’s family, particularly his wife, former First Lady Aisha Buhari, and his children and grandchildren, praying that God would fill the void.
He also offered a message to the nation, praying that God would be their strength and comfort in this solemn season.
