(DDM) – A member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing strong fiscal policies that have boosted the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursements to state governments.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Ndubuisi, who represents Bende South constituency, made the commendation shortly after he officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s state secretariat in Umuahia.

The lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the improved financial inflows have given state governors more resources to execute developmental projects and provide essential services without unnecessary hurdles.

He described the development as a positive shift for Nigeria’s subnational governments, stating that Tinubu’s economic reforms have “opened the gates” for greater financial capacity at the state level.

“The good works of President Tinubu attracted me to APC. His fiscal policy has made a lot of funds available to the states,” Ndubuisi said.

The defection marks the sixth PDP lawmaker to leave the party in Abia since the inauguration of the eighth Assembly.

The PDP initially held 11 seats but has lost members representing Isuikwuato, Ugwunagbo, Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, and now Bende South.

Ndubuisi also credited the leadership qualities of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, as a major influence in his decision.

“Kalu has done tremendously well in the House of Representatives. He is an outstanding legislator and leader,” Ndubuisi stated, adding that APC has a strong base in Bende Local Government Area.

Bende now holds the unique position of being represented in the Senate by Orji Uzor Kalu, in the House of Representatives by Benjamin Kalu, and in the State Assembly by Ndubuisi, all under the APC banner.

At the reception ceremony, the Abia APC Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, along with Secretary Chief Chidi Avaja and other State Working Committee members, welcomed Ndubuisi into the fold.

Presenting him with the party’s broom symbol, Ononogbu urged the legislator to contribute to building the APC ahead of the 2027 elections, declaring that Bende has now “completed the APC circle.”

He called on other local government areas in the state to follow Bende’s example by voting exclusively for APC candidates in future polls.

“We have brought out quality people. If other zones can meet us halfway, the job is done for APC in Abia,” the party chairman said.
