Amadi slams government officials over persistent attacks on Peter Obi

Dr. Sam Amadi has criticised top government officials for their continued attacks on Peter Obi.

Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, shared his views on his official X account.

He expressed concern over what he called coordinated criticisms targeted at Obi by leaders in the current administration.

In his post, Amadi highlighted that the presidency, Lagos State governor, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio have all attacked Obi recently.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Amadi found the attention on Obi unnecessary and politically motivated.

The statement by Amadi follows a recent public outburst by Senate President Akpabio against Obi.

Akpabio condemned Obi’s comment that “the labour of our heroes past has gone in vain.”

The Senate President labelled Obi’s statement disrespectful and unbecoming of a political figure.

Lagos State governor also criticised Obi for commenting on Nigeria’s economic situation during a recent event abroad.

The presidency has similarly dismissed Obi’s calls for reforms and economic recovery measures.

Amadi said it is surprising that so many top officials are focused on Obi’s opinions.

He noted that Obi talks only about national issues and presents ideas for a better Nigeria.

“Everyone is talking about @PeterObi, from Awka to Lagos to Abuja,” Amadi posted.

He emphasised that Obi does not speak against individuals but only focuses on national development and progress.

According to Amadi, Obi stands out for addressing the country’s problems without attacking his political opponents.

He praised Obi’s consistent policy-driven approach to national discourse and governance.

Amadi added that if elections were based on reason and solid plans, Obi would clearly be the best option.

“If election is a rational exercise, Peter Obi is so far the only person who ought to be elected,” he wrote.

Amadi believes Obi’s leadership style shows discipline and a commitment to addressing citizens’ real concerns.

He said Nigerian leaders should engage in issue-based politics and avoid personalised attacks on opposition voices.

The statement has generated widespread reactions and support from Obi’s followers and several neutral observers.

Many Nigerians online agree with Amadi, questioning why Obi continues to receive such harsh criticism.

Some analysts believe Obi’s popularity and message resonate deeply, especially among the younger population.

Amadi concluded that attacking Obi distracts from real governance challenges and weakens democratic dialogue.

He urged leaders to embrace healthy debate and focus on finding solutions to Nigeria’s pressing problems.

Amadi’s comments highlight the tense political environment and growing intolerance for opposing views.

As the country faces economic hardship and calls for reform, Obi’s message continues to gain attention.

His voice remains central in national discussions around governance, justice, and economic recovery.

Amadi’s defence of Obi underscores the importance of ideas over the politics of personality and division.
