Former presidential candidate under the National Republican Convention (NRC), Bashir Tofa has refused to appear before a Sharia Court.
Elombah.com gathered that his refusal stemmed from some $200,000 debt for which he was dragged to the court.
Tofa, it could be recalled, was the opponent of Chief M.K.O. Abiola in the 1993 election which was nullified by the then Dictator, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
The election was adjudged free and fair and was reportedly won by Chief Abiola.
Now in a dare-devil move, he has refused to appear before a Sharia Court despite being a Muslim faithful.
