Former Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. (Hon.) Victor Olabimtan has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Monday morning in Abuja.
Olabintan’s abduction came 48 hours after declared his intention to vie for the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Ondo State.
The Secretary of the Olabintan Campaign Organization, Mr. Gboyega Ajayi, confirmed to journalists on telephone that the Speaker was kidnapped on his way to Abuja from Akure.
He said the APC chieftain was kidnapped at kwali after he was flagged down at a military checkpoint by fake soldiers who turn out to be kidnappers.
According to Ajayi, police personnel in Abuja are currently on the kidnappers’ trail.
