Premier League giants, Chelsea FC, are reportedly in contact with Napoli regarding a potential summer transfer for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles star has been a subject of interest from various European clubs after an outstanding season that contributed to Napoli clinching their first Serie A league title in 33 years.

Osimhen’s remarkable performance saw him score 31 goals and provide five assists in 39 appearances across all competitions, with 26 goals in Serie A.

In light of their need to bolster their attacking options, Chelsea has engaged in discussions with Napoli to secure the services of the 25-year-old forward.

According to UK publication GIVEMESPORT, “conversations have happened” between Chelsea and Napoli over the potential transfer of Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.

The report also highlighted that Chelsea has moved ahead of Arsenal in the pursuit of Osimhen, but they face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Dean Jones, a transfer insider, stated, “Pochettino, who parted with more than £400million as he aimed to bolster his squad ahead of the previous window slamming shut, is running out of time to draft in reinforcements as the February 1 deadline is fast approaching.”

While Chelsea is actively pursuing Osimhen, PSG, guided by manager Mauricio Pochettino, is also exploring options for another striker to enhance their attacking capabilities.

The race for Osimhen’s signature intensifies as multiple top clubs express their interest in securing the talented Nigerian forward.
