ABUJA, NIGERIA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to strengthen protection measures around schools located in high-risk areas across the country, as part of renewed efforts to safeguard students and curb rising cases of abduction and attacks on educational institutions.
The directive was issued in commemoration of Children’s Day, with the President emphasizing the need to ensure that Nigerian children can access education in safe and secure environments without fear of violence or disruption.
The President, Bola Tinubu, also ordered intensified rescue operations aimed at securing the release of abducted schoolchildren still in captivity in various parts of the country, stressing that the protection of children remains a top national priority.

The Federal Government expressed concern over continued threats targeting schools, particularly in regions that have experienced repeated incidents of kidnapping and armed attacks.
