Fulani youths clash in Abuja over romantic dispute

A violent confrontation broke out among Fulani youths in Katampe, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, the clash occurred during the ongoing Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.

It was reportedly fueled by a dispute over romantic relationships.

The altercation resulted in multiple injuries.

It led to a significant disturbance in the area.

According to reports, the fight began around 7:30 PM.

It quickly escalated into a chaotic scene.

The involved parties allegedly wielded dangerous weapons.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the details of the incident.

He shared the information via a post on his X handle.

Makama revealed that two individuals sustained severe injuries.

Their injuries were serious enough to require hospitalization.

Eyewitness accounts suggest the confrontation started with an argument.

The dispute was reportedly over girlfriends.

The argument turned violent shortly after it began.

As the fight intensified, local residents raised the alarm.

Law enforcement agencies responded swiftly to the distress call.

Police patrol teams were deployed to the scene.

They successfully restored order in the area.

However, the assailants fled into the surrounding bushes.

The injured victims were identified as Isiaka Abubakar and Isiaka Mohammed.

Both victims are residents of Ruga Katampe.

They were transported to Jareal Hospital in Mpape.

They required urgent medical care.

Their current condition remains undisclosed.

Security analysts have noted a troubling pattern.

Violent clashes among Fulani youths have been reported during festive periods.

Similar incidents have occurred in previous years.

These clashes frequently happen on the second day of major celebrations.

Community leaders have expressed concern over the recurring violence.
