Google, Facebook has helped us train 32, 000 Nigerian youths- Roothub

Roothub, over the past ten years, has trained more than 32,000 young Nigerians in digital skills, it has come out to say on Saturday.
RootHub is a platform that focuses on exchanging ideas, technology, and digital skills.
The co-founder and CEO, Mr. Tony Onuk, made this clarification at a press conference that RootHub has successfully trained individuals from novice to expert levels in ICT.
Some of the trainees have gone on to become entrepreneurs and remote workers, both locally and internationally. RootHub has physical locations in Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Ebonyi, Lagos, and Taraba state.
This achievement was made possible through partnerships with major companies like Google and Facebook.
Mr. Onuk highlighted specific initiatives, such as the Tech101 project with Google in 2018 that trained 10,000 people in the Niger Delta region, and the partnership with Facebook in 2020 that trained over 20,000 people across Nigeria.
In total, they have a database of around 72,000 individuals across Africa for training and mentorship, with 1,200 successfully placed individuals globally.
The CEO emphasized that ICT plays a crucial role in developing human capacity and helping young people secure jobs both within and outside the state.
Additionally, Immerse, in collaboration with RootHub, is working to identify and nurture young talents through intensive training programs lasting between three to six months.
Participants in these programs receive hands-on experience from top-tier instructors and industry experts, culminating in a diploma certificate upon successful completion.
