US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest level of his current presidency, with a majority of Americans expressing concerns that the conflict between the United States and Iran could continue for a long time.

This is according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted over four days and concluded on Monday.

The survey found that 33 per cent of respondents approved of Trump’s performance as president, while 64 per cent disapproved.

Trump’s approval rating fell from 35 per cent recorded in an earlier poll this month. The latest figure also matches the lowest approval rating recorded during his first term in December 2017.

Trump returned to the White House in 2025 with an approval rating below 50 per cent, but his popularity has weakened amid the conflict with Iran.

The US president ordered strikes on Iran alongside Israel, while the conflict has disrupted oil supplies and increased concerns over energy prices.

Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil shipments, have also affected energy markets and contributed to higher petrol prices for American consumers.

The poll comes as diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran remain uncertain, with Iran saying it will maintain restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz until the United States meets conditions contained in an earlier agreement.
