Happy New Month Message From Dr George Moghalu To Ndi Anambra

Umunnem Ndi Anambra,
As we joyfully step into the month of November, a month that carries the destiny of our beloved state, I greet you with a heart full of gratitude to God, hope for a new beginning, and deep confidence in our collective strength to rebuild Anambra.
Over the past months, I have visited nearly every community in our dear state. I have walked through our streets, markets, and villages.
I have spoken with our traders, okada riders, keke and bus drivers, farmers, women, and youths.
I have listened to your cries, your fears, and your dreams. I have felt your pain over multiple taxation, harassment by Ndi Aka Ọdọ, insecurity, bad roads, and the absence of functional hospitals and quality schools.
These are not just stories to me; they are the reality of our people, and they have touched my heart deeply, strengthening my resolve to make things right.
Let me assure you from the depth of my heart that within one month of my swearing-in, the activities of Ndi Aka Ọdọ who are being used to exploit our people in the name of revenue collection will stop.
Under a Labour Party government, no one will be harassed or punished for striving to earn an honest living. We will build a transparent and humane system that supports business growth, uplifts traders and artisans, and rewards hard work.
I believe that power comes from God, and He alone gives it to whom He chooses. If God grants me the privilege to serve as your governor, I will bring to bear my experience, competence, and proven record of service to build an Anambra that works for everyone, an Anambra where justice will be our foundation, peace our guide, and prosperity our shared reward.
My covenant with you, Ndi Anambra, is from the heart. Education will be free and compulsory from primary to secondary school. We will reintroduce the State Scholarship Board to support our brilliant and hardworking children.
Free medical care will be provided for our elderly from 65 years and above, and those who are 70 and above will receive a monthly allowance as a token of love and appreciation for their sacrifices.
We will fix our roads, strengthen healthcare, create jobs, secure our communities, and reinvest in agriculture to provide food, employment, and economic growth for our people.
This November 8th, destiny calls. It is a call for renewal, for unity, and for a return to leadership that listens, cares, and serves.
Let us rise together as one family, bound by truth, fairness, and the desire to make Anambra great again.
Together, we will take back our state and rebuild it with love, honesty, and dedication. Vote Labour Party. Support Dr. George Moghalu. Anambra ga adi mma ọzọ.
Dr. George Moghalu
Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Anambra State

JUST IN: Youths Demand Release Of Clinton Ogbonna, Condemn chairman’s Shooting, Arrest
Enugu, Nigeria – The Ozalla Youth Wing for Good Governance has issued an open letter to Dr. Eric Odo, Executive Chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Government Area , expressing outrage over the arrest and detention of Hon. Dr. Clinton Ogbonna and several youths.
According to DDM, the youths were reportedly involved in a peaceful protest earlier today, challenging the handling of local government allocations and the suspension of Hon. Val, the councillor representing Idoha Ward.
The open letter, signed by Hon. Christian Chukwudi Agbo, President of the youth group, condemned the alleged deployment of armed men to intimidate and confront protesters, describing the actions as a violation of democratic principles and citizens’ rights to peaceful assembly.
The youth leaders emphasized that the detained individuals were advocating for transparency, accountability, and fairness in governance, and that suppressing their voices undermines the values of democracy.
According to the letter, Hon. Dr. Clinton Ogbonna was reportedly shot during the confrontation, intensifying concerns over the use of force against unarmed citizens.
The group called for the immediate release of Ogbonna and other detained youths, urging the local government to establish a genuine avenue for dialogue on the issues raised, including the proper use of local government funds.
Ozalla Youth Wing further stressed that leadership should be demonstrated through listening, engagement, and tolerance, warning that intimidation of young citizens threatens both social cohesion and progress in the local government.
Civil society observers note that peaceful protests are a legitimate means for citizens to hold local authorities accountable, and any response involving force may attract national attention and legal scrutiny.
The letter concluded with a call for fairness, accountability, and respect for the voices of youths, stressing that Igbo Etiti can only advance when the concerns of its younger population are taken seriously.
Political analysts suggest that the incident may escalate tensions in the local government area if unresolved, highlighting the importance of swift, just, and transparent action by the council leadership.

Soyinka Says He Foresaw Mass U.S. Visa And Green Card Revocations
(DDM) – Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has declared that he foresaw the ongoing wave of visa and green card revocations by the United States government, warning that global immigration policies are shifting toward restriction and control.
According to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the literary icon made the revelation while speaking at a public event where he reflected on recent diplomatic and migration developments affecting Nigerians and other African nationals in the U.S.
Soyinka said his prediction was not based on speculation but on a long-standing observation of how American domestic politics often influences its immigration laws, especially during periods of heightened nationalism or economic strain.
He lamented that many Nigerians who legally obtained their visas and green cards are now facing unexpected reviews and cancellations, often without clear explanations or due process.
“The world is becoming more insular,” Soyinka said. “When I warned about this years ago, many thought it was an exaggeration.
What we are witnessing today is the redefinition of global movement and belonging.”
DDM recalls that the United States has, in recent months, intensified its immigration enforcement policies, citing national security and economic considerations.
Reports indicate that several Nigerian professionals and students have been subjected to prolonged visa reviews, entry denials, or abrupt revocations.
Soyinka, known for his global activism and outspoken views, said the development underscores the urgent need for African countries to strengthen internal governance and provide better opportunities for their citizens.
He noted that dependence on foreign validation and migration for economic survival leaves African nations vulnerable to the political whims of powerful states.
“Every time a country fails to provide justice, education, and opportunity, its citizens seek dignity elsewhere,” he said. “Now, even that refuge is being withdrawn.”
Observers told DDM that Soyinka’s remarks come at a time when international travel restrictions and immigration reviews have become increasingly politicised.
The issue has sparked debates across social media, with many Nigerians expressing fear over what they describe as “silent deportations” through administrative revocations.
Soyinka also linked the current trend to a growing sense of global distrust and rising xenophobia.
He argued that the erosion of liberal migration values, once considered central to the idea of freedom, reflects a deeper crisis of humanity.
He urged Nigeria’s government to engage diplomatically with the U.S. and other Western countries to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens abroad, while also tackling domestic conditions driving mass emigration.
In his concluding remarks, the Nobel laureate warned that if African leaders fail to address governance and human capital collapse, the continent may soon face a generation of disillusioned citizens trapped between hostile foreign policies and decaying home systems.
His comments have since reignited public discussion about migration, citizenship, and the shrinking moral space of Western democracies in their treatment of African migrants.

Independence At 65: Moghalu Declares Anambra At Crossroads, Urges Urgent Reforms
(DDM) – Labour Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, has declared that Anambra is at a dangerous crossroads as Nigeria marks 65 years of independence.
According to DDM, Moghalu made this statement while addressing Ndi Anambra on Independence Day, stressing that the state has fallen behind in governance, development, and security.
Moghalu reminded citizens that October 1st was not just a date in history but a day of sober reflection on the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and mothers.
He noted that Anambra, once known for excellence, resilience, and enterprise, has been reduced to a shadow of its great potential under the current administration.
Citing the Phillips Consulting Limited (PCL) States Performance Index 2025, Moghalu revealed that Anambra ranked 36th overall, placing the state in the red zone of livability in Nigeria.
He pointed out that Anambra was ranked 31st in road quality, exposing the poor standard of roads being constructed.
The Labour Party candidate further lamented that in capital expenditure per capita, the state was ranked 33rd, highlighting a lack of adequate reinvestment into infrastructure.
He described Anambra’s healthcare ranking of 30th as a tragedy, stressing that many citizens now struggle to access basic medical services.
Moghalu added that the education ranking of 34th was proof that schools in the state had collapsed, leaving the future of children in jeopardy.
According to him, insecurity has worsened drastically in Anambra with over 300 deaths recorded since the inception of the current administration.
He condemned the handover of revenue collection to Aka-odo touts, accusing them of exploiting traders and entrepreneurs across the state.
The Labour Party candidate also raised alarm over the collapse of local government administration in Anambra.
Between January and June this year, Anambra’s local governments reportedly received over ₦60.2 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
Moghalu alleged that the state government hijacks these funds, leaving local councils with barely 10 percent, enough only to pay salaries without meaningful impact in communities.
He declared that this was not governance, not service, and not the Anambra that past heroes fought to build.
Despite these failings, Moghalu expressed optimism that the state could still be reclaimed and rebuilt.
He outlined his vision to restore Anambra through durable infrastructure, modernized education, accessible healthcare, improved security, and empowered local governments.
According to Moghalu, his goal is to return government to the people, serve with integrity, and govern with accountability.
He stressed that freedom is never given but fought for, while progress is never wished for but worked for.
He urged Ndi Anambra to unite and reclaim the greatness of their state as Nigeria marks 65 years of independence.
Moghalu concluded with a message of hope, saying the promise of Anambra and Nigeria remains alive if the people act with courage, faith, and unity.
