“I dare anyone to suspend me from PDP,” Wike cries out.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has boldly challenged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), daring them to suspend or expel him.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) revailed that this declaration came during a live broadcast on Channels Television’s Politics on Wednesday.
The former governor of Rivers State, who has been a key figure in the PDP, made it clear that he has not encountered any party leader who could carry out such an action.
Wike explained that he had informed the PDP leadership ahead of time when he accepted the ministerial role offered by President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Despite working for the APC-led government, Wike stressed that his loyalty to the PDP remains unshaken.
“I am still a PDP member,” he asserted, underscoring his commitment to the party despite his current position within the administration of President Tinubu.
The crisis within the PDP has deepened over the years, with tensions between party members over its direction and leadership.
Wike’s remarks reflect the growing divisions in the party, especially concerning its stance toward political alliances and the participation of key members in the APC-led government.
Wike has remained a contentious figure in the PDP, particularly with his strong stance in support of Tinubu, which has earned him both praise and criticism within the opposition party.
Throughout the political discourse, Wike has consistently maintained that his support for Tinubu is aimed at ensuring the president’s success in office.
He pointed out that his objective is to help the APC government deliver on its promises, particularly in key areas of governance, while still identifying as a loyal member of the PDP.
His challenge to the party leadership has amplified the crisis in the PDP, where questions about its leadership and future have lingered.
With Wike’s defiant stance, it is evident that the party is facing a test of unity, as figures like him seek to balance their roles in both the opposition party and the current administration.
Wike’s words serve as a sharp reminder of the growing rift within the PDP, signaling that the party’s internal challenges are far from over.
As tensions continue to rise within the party, Wike’s unapologetic declaration to stay in the PDP while working with the APC highlights the difficult road ahead for the opposition party in navigating its internal conflict and securing a unified front for the future.
