As Orlu LGA sole administrator is accused of using Ebubeagu thugs & assassins to harass Orlu electorate

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde looks set to disobey the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, who directed that all State Security outfits should be barred from taking any part in the conduct of the gubernatorial and State House of Assembly election billed to hold tomorrow across the country.

This is as a group; the Orlu Restoration Movement has raised an alarm over ongoing harassments and intimidation of voters in Orlu LGA, spearheaded by the Sole Administrator, Chris Mbarie, using the outlawed Imo Security Organization, otherwise known as Ebubeagu Militia.

According to a release signed by Chika Gabriel for the organization, they expressed regrets that the State Government through the SOLAD is deploying all forces to ensure that the people’s desire to elect a responsible representative is thwarted, as it has been discovered that the militia group is doing everything to ensure that the people do not come out to exercise their franchise.

The Imo State governor is accused of planning a replay of the electoral criminality that took place on the 25th of February, when APC leaders reaped massively from the insecurity that pervaded some parts of Orlu and Okigwe areas, by manufacturing results in areas where voting did not take place at all or where there was massive apathy.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police should take responsibility and ensure that Imo people cast their votes and are protected from miscreants whose aim is to continually create fear in the land in order to continue to reap from the sad situation by imposing unpopular and rejected candidates as representatives of the people at various levels of the legislature.

It is unthinkable that a Commissioner of Police would flagrantly disregard the orders of the IGP as it is the case in Imo State, where it is alleged that members of the Nigerian Police Force, especially those attached to the Tiger Base squad, are actively providing a shield to the Ebubeagu Militia as they perpetrate all manner of criminalities and harassment of innocent and law-abiding citizens.

MAY IMO WIN!
