INEC Verifies ADC Secretariat Ahead of Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Mrs Vivian Oladipo, inspected the beautiful and well furnished newly acquired African Democratic Congress (ADC) Secretariat in Akwa Ibom State for verification.

The inspection took place on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 84 Udotong Ubo Street, where the ADC office is situated, marking the beginning of INEC’s constitutional responsibility to verify the status of political parties in Akwa Ibom State.

During the inspection, Mrs. Oladipo expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and cooperative atmosphere among ADC stakeholders, including the immediate past chairman, of the party Mercy edeke and the present chairman, Hon. Gabriel. She commended the party’s synergy and cooperation, noting that the ADC Secretariat was the first political party office they had inspected with well to do facilities with good office space compared to non.

The newly appointed Chairman, Hon. Gabriel expressed satisfaction with INEC’s prompt inspection of their office. He stated that his appointment as chairman took effect on May 30, 2024, and highlighted his harmonious working relationship with the immediate past chairman for the party’s progress.

Addressing party members after the verification exercise, Hon. Gabriel emphasized that the party is committed to equity, truth, justice, and open doors with a welcome handshake as seen in our logo he further emphasised that the party will provide fair and equal opportunities for those aspiring for political positions. He assured members of effective representation, transparency, and positive changes. He stressed that the party’s focus is on building credibility and reliability among its candidates as well as taking over the state come 2027

Gabriel said, “You have heard of political parties and their members. That is why you are all here, demonstrating transparency and straightforwardness. I appreciate your presence for the INEC verification exercise despite the economic situation in the country. I also thank our political leader, Dr.umontuen for his prompt support and action towards making the party ready for the coming electioneering campaign and Mrs.

Dr. Umontuen, the political leader of African Democratic Congress, encouraged party members to maintain peace and work together, stressing that the party will become a major force in Akwa Ibom State with sincerity and understanding.

Ntuen, promised to leverage his experience to ensure the party’s progress. Encouraging members to maintain peace, he stated, “If we work together, this party can become a force to reckon with in Akwa Ibom State. Cooperation and understanding are key to our success, even in taking over the government house. I urge you all to work in synergy with leadership.”

He continued, “I assure you that if there are any grievances among the members, the new party chairman, Hon. Gabriel will address them and bring everyone together. I sincerely commend the immediate past chairman’s presence in the office.”
