JAMB reschedules 2025 UTME, releases slip printing guide
DDM News

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has brought forward the commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) revealed that this new date replaces the earlier announced date of Friday, April 25.
According to the Board, the adjustment became necessary to accommodate vital commitments with its partner agencies.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin.
JAMB assured the public that preparations for the nationwide conduct of the examination have been finalized.
The Board said all necessary logistics are in place to ensure a smooth and orderly exam process.
To help candidates prepare, JAMB has directed all registered applicants to begin printing their UTME notification slips starting Saturday, April 19, 2025.
The notification slip is a critical document that must be presented on the day of the exam.
It contains essential information such as the examination date, venue, time, and other important guidelines.
JAMB advised candidates to print their slips at least one or two days before their scheduled exam date.
Early printing allows candidates to become familiar with their exam centres and make timely transportation plans.
This step is aimed at preventing confusion, lateness, or missed exams due to avoidable delays.
To print the notification slip, candidates should visit the official JAMB website at www.jamb.gov.ng.
They are to click on the “2025 UTME Slip Printing” link on the homepage.
Next, they must enter their registration number in the appropriate field and then click “Print Examination Slip.”
JAMB emphasized that no candidate will be posted outside the town they selected during registration.
This policy is designed to make the process more convenient and reduce travel-related challenges.
The Board further stated that only candidates who present their printed slips will be allowed entry into the exam centres.
Candidates are encouraged to visit their assigned centres before the exam day to avoid confusion.
JAMB warned that failure to comply with these instructions may result in disqualification or missed exams.
Strict adherence to the guidelines, the Board added, will ensure a smooth and credible 2025 UTME.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is Nigeria’s official examination body for admissions into tertiary institutions.
It was established in 1978 by an Act of the Federal Government.
JAMB is responsible for organizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) every year.
The UTME is a standardized test for prospective students seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
Over time, JAMB has introduced reforms to improve the credibility and efficiency of the examination process.
Among these reforms is the transition from paper-based exams to computer-based testing (CBT).
The CBT format has enhanced result processing and reduced the occurrence of cheating.
Biometric verification and facial recognition have also been introduced to curb impersonation and malpractice.
JAMB’s online platforms now support registration, result checking, and resolution of complaints.
Each year, over 1.7 million candidates register for the UTME across the country.
The exam plays a vital role in determining eligibility for admission into Nigeria’s higher institutions.
JAMB’s commitment to fairness and transparency has helped build public confidence in the exam process.
As the 2025 UTME approaches, candidates are urged to stay informed and follow all guidelines strictly.
The Board has assured that it will continue to monitor developments and provide updates where necessary.
