Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has sparked reactions online after confronting an alleged one-way driver during a traffic situation in Lagos.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Oriental Hotel on the road leading to Lekki, where the actress allegedly encountered a driver going against the direction of traffic.
Rather than move out of the way, Osunde reportedly blocked the vehicle and stood her ground, insisting that she would not give way to a driver allegedly using the wrong side of the road.
“I will not move because you are in my lane,” the actress was quoted as saying.
According to reports circulating online, the confrontation continued until officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) arrived at the scene to intervene.
Osunde later expressed her frustration over the incident online, criticising what she described as the attitude of motorists who behave as though their time or convenience is more important than that of other road users.
The incident has since generated reactions on social media, with many users praising the actress for refusing to yield to the alleged traffic violation.
Some commenters, however, used the incident to draw attention to the broader problem of traffic violations and disregard for road regulations in Lagos, particularly during periods of heavy congestion.
The development has also renewed calls for motorists to obey traffic rules and for relevant authorities to consistently enforce regulations against driving against traffic.
While the details of the incident are based on social media reports and Osunde’s account, the episode has nevertheless sparked a wider conversation about road discipline and accountability among motorists in Lagos.
