JUST IN: FG drops money laundering charges against Binance executive

There could be light at the end of the tunnel for the embattled Binance executive holdings, Mr Tigran Gambaryan, as the Nigerian government has dropped all charges against him.

Mr Tigran is facing money laundering trial from detention since April.

A lawyer representing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the prosecuting agency announced the withdrawal of the charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja Wednesday, 23rd of October, 2024.

While announcing the withdrawal of the charges, the lawyer said Mr Gambaryan, a United States citizen, was merely an employee of Binance, whose activities he was being prosecuted for.

Recall that Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla were taken into custody by the office of the National Security Adviser.

However, Nadeem Anjarwalla escaped from lawful detention on March 22, 2024, while his counterpart, Gambaryan, was later arraigned in April.
