Kemi Badenoch under fire, By Osondu Ahirika

Starmer, Badenoch

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer has done his worst.

A savage put down of the Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch.

In a non flattering shade in a parliamentary argument, Starmer went for her jugular.

Stating with resentment that he hardly thought of her as a political being, he described Badenoch as;

A “Self-appointed saviour of Western civilization in a desperate search for relevance”

A brutally polite insult.

An unapologetic subtle reminder that Kemi who is Nigerian by birth, doesn’t belong here.

Although she has since adopted British citizenship and very readily disowns her original country.

A lizard may have a tail and crawl on its belly, but it can never enjoy the camaraderie of crocodiles.

That ‘cryptic’ remark is loaded with several coded messages.

It was racist.

A submission hold.

A knockout blow.

A devastating uppercut.

Kemi Badenoch went blank and looked jaded after that punch below the belt by the Prime Minister.

Smacks of what we call in Nigerian Street parlance, ‘see finish’.

Starmer was in effect putting her where he thinks she belongs without mincing words.

Will this racist jab cause a reset of Kemi’s mindset to reconnect to her roots?

Could it weaken her hold on the Conservative Party?

She can follow the path of Rishi Sunak, immediate past Prime Minister of the UK with Asian lineage and stay strong.

This kind of comment is a type that spurs one.

Obama was insulted too.

But he waded through it all and became President of the United States.

One day, God willing, she will make history.

Becoming first Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of African descent.
