In the wake of the victory rally of U.S. President Donald Trump on January 19, 2025, Senator Nenadi Usman, PhD, Chairman of the Labour Party Caretaker Committee in Nigeria, reflected on the themes of national unity, security, and economic revitalization emphasized by Trump in his address.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the rally, held indoors at the Capitol One Arena due to inclement weather, drew attention globally as Trump called for collaboration and progress.

President Trump’s speech resonated deeply with citizens across the world, urging nations to focus on their collective development, cohesion, and brighter futures.

Usman expressed her admiration for the president’s call for unity, noting how the powerful themes of his address could inspire leaders across the globe, including in Nigeria.

The Labour Party, Usman pointed out, is keen on fostering similar values within Nigeria.

She emphasized that these values—unity, peace, and forward-thinking governance—are essential for the country’s success.

In her statement, Usman called on all Nigerians to work together in support of the Labour Party’s vision for the nation.

She believes that the party’s platform can serve as a beacon of hope, driving progressive leadership and national development in Nigeria.

Usman’s remarks also highlighted the importance of strong leadership and the peaceful transition of power, as demonstrated by the U.S. elections.

The Labour Party, she added, seeks to reinforce these ideals within Nigeria, advocating for democratic processes that reflect the aspirations of the people.

“As we witness these global movements,” she said, “we must ask ourselves how we, in Nigeria, can adopt these principles for our own future.”

She further expressed a deep hope that the Labour Party would play a key role in shaping Nigeria’s future, steering the country toward progress and a brighter future for all citizens.

“We must keep the welfare of Nigerians at the heart of everything we do,” she noted.

“The Labour Party is committed to this cause.”

In closing, Senator Usman prayed for God’s guidance for Nigerian leaders, urging them to prioritize the needs of the country and its citizens.

She concluded by reiterating that the Labour Party stands firm in its belief that Nigeria can achieve its true potential through unity and collaboration.
