Nigerian abroad alleges N40m land scam

Kayode Oladipo, a Nigerian residing abroad, has accused Revolution Plus Real Estate and its Managing Director, Bamidele Onalaja, of scamming him over N40 million.

Oladipo claimed he paid the money to the firm in 2017 and was supposed to be allocated 20 plots of land by the company, but he hasn’t received any land allocation yet.

In a video that started trending on Wednesday, he called on the Nigerian government to intervene and threatened suicide.

In a video that started trending on Wednesday, Kayode Oladipo threatened to commit suicide if Revolution Plus Real Estate and its Managing Director, Bamidele Onalaja, did not give him his 20 plots of land worth more than N40 million that he claimed he paid for in 2017.

Oladipo accused the company of frustrating his life and sleeping under the bridge where it is now snowing.

In response to the video, Revolution Plus Properties refuted the allegations in a press statement on its Instagram account on Wednesday.

The company, Revolution Plus Properties, claimed that Kayode Oladipo owed outstanding balances for purchased plots and stated that there were discrepancies in his narration about the transaction.

In a press statement titled ‘Press statement with regards to video posted by Mr Kayode Oladipo, the company clarified that Oladipo bought five plots in Royalty Garden, Idasho during one of their promo packages sessions and got one plot free.

However, he defaulted in payment and still has an outstanding amount of N3, 754,000.

The company, claim Kayode Oladipo still owes an outstanding balance for purchased plots and there were discrepancies in his narration about the transaction.

The company clarified that Oladipo bought five plots in Royalty Garden, Idasho during one of their promo packages sessions and got one plot free.

However, he defaulted in payment and still has an outstanding amount of N3, 754,000.

Revolution Plus Properties clarified that contrary to the narrative circulating on social media, Kayode Oladipo paid a total of N16,752,000 and not N40 million.

The company also stated that Oladipo still owes them the sum of N9,358,000.

The company disclosed that Oladipo signed a contract specifying full payment as a condition for land allocation.

Revolution Plus Properties added that it is unacceptable that false and unfounded information is being spread on social media to tarnish the company’s image.

The company also mentioned that they will be pursuing legal action against Oladipo and urged customers to disregard the allegations in his video.
