Nigerian born centre-back Kalu Michael signs for new Iraqi club Samarra Sports

Nigerian born prolific centre-back, Kalu Michael has put pen to paper with a new Iraqi club, Samarra Sports.

Though NewsBand could not confirm how many years deal he signed with Samarra Sports

Michael who previously played for Wau Salaam FC of South Sudan, Jazeera SC of Somalia, Sion of Swiss Super League and ACS Hayabley before departing to Iraq confirmed the new deal to NewsBand when he was contacted from his Iraqi base.

Speaking to NewsBand Kalu Michael said, “I feel excited, it is a new challenge in a new environment. I am looking forward in helping my team”

The 20-year-old centre-back before his departure from Heyableh assisted the club to finish in the seventh position in Djibouti Premier League.

Kalu featured 22 times for the Djibouti top-flight side across all competitions since his arrival from the Somalia Premier League
