A 21-year-old student in the United Kingdom has reported her new flatmate, a Nigerian male student, for asking her a creepy question.
The Nigerian who has recently moved to the UK shares a flat with a female student identified as Tee on Twitter. They were in a conversation when the man reportedly asked his new flatmate if she was a virgin.
The young woman who disclosed this on X on Thursday, September 28, said she got into the conversation to make her new flatmate feel welcome and comfortable only for him to pop the intrusive question.
“Speaking to my new flatmate who’s an international student. So I’m just helping him feel comfortable and he’s asking me if I’m a virgin?????,” she wrote.
In an update on Friday, she wrote, “So I spoke to my accom. They are gonna move him.”
At least one of her followers observed that she could have ignored him instead of taking the extreme decision of reporting him to the accommodation administrators.
Tee defended her action, insisting that the question was too intrusive to come from a complete stranger.
She added that she did not want to take any chances considering that she would be staying in the same flat with him for at least a year.
