Nigeria’s headline inflation rate edged down to 15.91% in June 2026, marking the first monthly decline in three months, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The latest figure represents a marginal drop from the 15.93% recorded in May.
In its Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released on Wednesday, the NBS said the headline inflation rate declined by 0.02 percentage points compared with the previous month.
The bureau also reported that month-on-month inflation slowed to 1.66% in June, down from 1.75% recorded in May.
According to the NBS, the latest figures indicate that the pace at which prices increased in June was slower than in the previous month, offering a modest sign of easing inflationary pressure.
