KADUNA, Nigeria — Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure about 95 per cent of votes from Northern Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election, attributing his optimism to what he described as the administration’s growing record of infrastructure development, security improvements and economic reforms across the region.
Speaking during a political engagement, Governor Sani said the North has continued to witness increased federal attention under President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the areas of road construction, agriculture, education, healthcare and security. According to him, these interventions have strengthened public confidence in the administration and positioned the President favourably ahead of the next general election.
The governor argued that the Federal Government has demonstrated commitment to addressing long-standing developmental challenges in Northern Nigeria through strategic investments in infrastructure and social programmes. He maintained that communities across the region have begun to experience the benefits of ongoing federal projects aimed at improving transportation, expanding economic opportunities and enhancing the quality of life.
Sani also pointed to ongoing efforts to improve security in parts of the North, stating that collaboration between the Federal Government, security agencies and state governments has produced encouraging results in the fight against banditry, terrorism and kidnapping. While acknowledging that security challenges still exist, he said sustained operations have contributed to restoring peace in several previously troubled communities.
According to the governor, improved security has enabled farmers to return to their farmlands in many areas, leading to increased agricultural activities and renewed economic confidence. He noted that agriculture remains a major source of livelihood in Northern Nigeria and that continued government support for the sector would further strengthen food production and rural development.
Governor Sani further praised the Federal Government’s investment in road infrastructure, describing improved transportation networks as critical to economic growth and national integration. He said projects currently being executed across Northern states would facilitate trade, reduce travel time and improve access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities.
He expressed confidence that the achievements of the Tinubu administration would influence voting patterns across the North during the 2027 presidential election. According to him, voters are expected to assess candidates based on their performance, leadership and commitment to national development rather than political rhetoric.
The governor also urged political leaders to prioritise issue-based campaigns and promote peaceful political engagement as preparations gradually begin for the next electoral cycle. He emphasised the importance of maintaining unity, stability and respect for democratic processes throughout the campaign period.
Political analysts, however, note that electoral outcomes ultimately depend on voters and that political projections made before elections often reflect the views and expectations of individual politicians or political parties. They add that campaigns, party alliances, government performance and voter participation will all play significant roles in determining the eventual outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
As political activities continue to gather momentum across the country, stakeholders expect discussions on economic development, security, infrastructure, employment and governance to dominate public debate ahead of the elections. Governor Sani maintained that the Tinubu administration’s record in these areas would earn the President overwhelming support across Northern Nigeria, expressing confidence that the region would deliver a decisive mandate in 2027.
