Opposition vows to defeat Tinubu, revealed there tactics
DDM News

Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has spoken on Nigeria’s political future.
According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, he declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can be defeated in 2027 by a focused and united opposition party.
According to him, the only way Tinubu can retain power is if he genuinely improves the lives of Nigerians.
Adebayo made these remarks during an exclusive interview with Daily Trust, where he analyzed Nigeria’s political climate and electoral behavior.
He said Nigerians are no longer easily influenced by personalities or party loyalty in determining their voting decisions.
Rather, the people are now driven by the performance and impact of those in government on their daily lives.
He stressed that hungry citizens and unemployed youths care less about the identities of politicians.
Instead, they focus on how government policies affect their children’s future, job opportunities, and food availability.
Adebayo stated clearly that the major weakness of any incumbent is failure to deliver on campaign promises.
He argued that if President Tinubu fails to govern effectively, the opposition will have a clear chance at victory.
In his words, “The only reason we may not defeat Tinubu in 2027 is if he actually does his job.”
He emphasized that Nigerians are no longer romantic about politicians’ promises without tangible developmental results.
According to him, the era of political worship based on name recognition and regional sentiments is quickly fading.
He warned that President Tinubu’s incumbency does not automatically guarantee re-election in 2027.
Drawing from history, Adebayo referenced the People’s Democratic Party’s failed ambition of ruling Nigeria for 60 consecutive years.
The PDP, which ruled from 1999 to 2015, was removed after just 16 years due to perceived poor governance.
He cited this as a major example of how political dominance can quickly collapse when performance is lacking.
The SDP leader also recalled that many once-powerful politicians were declared unbeatable until voters rejected them at the ballot.
He believes that the same can happen again if Tinubu does not provide real economic and social improvements.
Adebayo pointed out that most Nigerians now evaluate leadership based on results, not rhetoric or ethnic affiliation.
He warned political elites against underestimating the resolve of the Nigerian electorate, especially amid rising poverty and unemployment.
President Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, following a controversial and hotly contested presidential election.
He inherited a fragile economy, insecurity, fuel subsidy removal, inflation, and a currency devaluation crisis.
Many citizens hoped his leadership would usher in lasting reforms and inclusive economic growth.
However, critics say his reforms have so far led to higher costs of living and greater hardship for average Nigerians.
Supporters argue that his policies are necessary steps toward long-term structural reform and economic recovery.
The debate continues, with the public watching closely to assess the administration’s performance ahead of the next election.
Adebayo maintains that real governance, not propaganda or power games, will determine who leads Nigeria beyond 2027.
He concluded that the opposition must stay united, focused, and policy-driven to defeat Tinubu if he fails to perform.
With over two years remaining, all eyes are on the president to either transform lives or lose power.
In the end, Adebayo insisted, hungry citizens and unemployed youths will make the final decision at the ballot box.
