This development was confirmed in a press release by Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, spokesperson to the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare.

According to the statement, Mr. Elijah Okafor, a pastor from Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area, allegedly claimed that his wife fell from a four-storey building.

However, the victim’s uncle, Mr. Samuel Onuorah, who led the complaint to the ministry, reported discrepancies in the husband’s account.

Mr. Onuorah revealed that after visiting the mortuary, it was clear that Ogechukwu had not fallen but had been fatally stabbed in the neck and chest. This contradicted the husband’s claim and raised serious concerns about the true nature of her death.
