The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized the All Progressives Congress, (APC) calling it “a party of vampires” that grows on sucking the blood of citizens while imposing severe hardship on the people of Nigeria.

The statement was made by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, on Monday in Abuja.

The PDP publicly denounced the APC regarding it as an alliance driven by self-serving interests, characterizing them as power-hungry, corrupt, and manipulative.

According to the PDP, the APC’s primary objective is to exploit and plunder Nigeria’s resources, leaving countless citizens to endure immense hardship.

According to the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the PDP strongly condemned the APC for its recent verbal attacks on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

Governor Makinde has been vocal about the immense hardship faced by Nigerians under the APC administration, citing widespread corruption, economic instability, and insecurity.

The party regarded the recent attacks, labeling them as “reckless, insensitive, and an arrogant display of failure.”

The secretary asserted that the attack demonstrates the APC’s growing unease, as their time in power is limited.

“Nigerians have seen through the APC’s lies, manipulations, and suppressive policies, which demonstrate incompetence in governance,” Ologunagba stated.

“Makinde has made significant moves in Oyo State, evident in his commitment to excellence and sustainable development.”

“His leadership has led to impressive economic growth, with the state’s GDP increasing from N2.75 trillion in 2019 to N4.05 trillion as of Q3 2022.”

“Makinde’s partnership with fellow PDP governors showcases his dedication to development, democracy, and resisting APC’s single-party dominance attempts in Nigeria.”

Ologunagba expressed dissatisfaction on the APC’s assertion that Nigeria is “on the verge of prosperity” amid widespread insecurity, economic hardship, and worsening infrastructure, all allegedly brought on by APC’s “oppressive policies.”

“He criticized the APC, saying it’s ridiculous to claim success when they’ve failed miserably, reversing the progress made during the PDP’s 16-year rule,” Vanguard reported.

“The APC’s attempts to deceive Nigerians with false accomplishments won’t hold water.”

The National Publicity Secretary further criticized the APC, saying “the APC’s economic management has been disastrous.”

“Under the PDP, the Naira traded at N168 to the Dollar, but now it’s almost N2,000 per Dollar.”

“Petrol prices have skyrocketed from N87 per liter to over N1,500, and a bag of rice has gone from N8,000 to over N100,000. Even staple foods like beans and garri have turned to gold in the market.”

Ologunagba alleged that the APC leaders have misappropriated national funds for personal enrichment, indulging in extravagant lifestyles while Nigerians endure unprecedented economic hardship.

“The APC’s recent personal attacks and manipulation of data suggest desperation, especially as the 2027 elections approaching.”

He concluded, “The APC should admit its failures and prepare to drop the power in February 2027.

“The PDP, supported by Nigerians, will put an end to the APC’s political journey, putting them where they belong in policy making.”
