DDM News

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the burial site of Adedamola Ogunbode, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU).
Diaspora digital media (DDM) revealed that this confirmation follows the arrest of the principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, who was initially believed to have fled to Benin Republic.
Ajisomo is now in police custdy and has been assisting detectives in locating the exact burial site of Ogunbode.
Lagos State University (LASU) is a government-owned institution established in 1983 by the Lagos State Government.
The university is known for academic excellence, research, and producing graduates who contribute significantly to Nigeria’s workforce and development.
Adedamola Ogunbode, a Political Science Education graduate, was declared missing on January 16, 2025.
Rumors later emerged that his mutilated body had been found, causing widespread concern among students and the public.
Last Friday, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with Ogunbode’s disappearance.
Five other suspects remain at large as police intensify efforts to apprehend them.
Among those arrested was Whepetoji Sunday, a pastor accused of withdrawing N70,000 from Ogunbode’s bank account.
Another suspect, Sheriff Adebayo, a church member, was allegedly found to have received N300,000 from the victim’s account.
Police also arrested Omolara Ajisomo, the mother of the principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo.
She was accused of helping her children, Olaoluwa and Teniola Ajisomo, escape after each reportedly received N300,000.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case.
This decision followed threats from the LASU students’ union to organize a statewide protest demanding justice for Ogunbode.
Police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Ajisomo was arrested in the Alakuko area of Lagos.
Hundeyin further stated that the suspect was responsible for emptying Ogunbode’s bank account using the victim’s mobile phone.
“The principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, was arrested on Monday morning at the Alakuko area,” Hundeyin told journalists.
“He was the one who emptied the victim’s bank account using Ogunbode’s mobile phone,” he added.
Social media speculations suggested that Ogunbode’s grave was inside the church premises where the pastor worshipped.
Hundeyin, however, clarified that the grave was not within the church compound but elsewhere in the community.
Police sealed the church after receiving intelligence that some people planned to burn it down in retaliation.
“The church was sealed to prevent an arson attack by those seeking revenge,” Hundeyin stated.
Meanwhile, a police source revealed that detectives were on their way to exhume Ogunbode’s body.
“I just got word that the newly arrested suspect confessed to killing the LASU graduate,” the source disclosed.
“The police are now heading to the burial site,” the source added.
When asked for confirmation, Hundeyin responded with one word: “Confirmed.”
