A primary school teacher identified as Yakubu Mohammed was shot dead by gunmen suspected to be bandits when they attacked Lokogoma community, Gadabuke District of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The unfortunate attack which reportedly occurred around midnight on Friday, also saw the abduction of two of Mohammed’s children, along with seven other residents, including two women.
It was gathered that during the attack, a woman was reported to have sustained bullet injuries.
The shocking attack has left the community in fear as the search for the abducted victims continues.
Meanwhile, Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the spokesman of the command on Tuesday said that an investigation has been launched into the attack.
He assured the general public that efforts are being made to rescue the abducted individuals and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“It’s true the incident happened, and investigation has been launched. Effort is ongoing to rescue the victims and arrest the culprits,” Nansel stated.
