The country home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan suffered another violent attack on Tuesday night, June 17, 2025.

The incident happened in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State around midnight, according to residents.

Eyewitnesses said armed men stormed the compound and began smashing windows with dangerous weapons.

Residents raised an alarm that drew the attention of local police and vigilantes to the scene.

Security agents and community members quickly mobilised and responded to the distress call without delay.

Their intervention forced the attackers to retreat and abandon their mission.

A known local suspect, Suberu Jose, was apprehended while attempting to flee from the property.

He was caught with a machete and several charms hidden in a small black bag.

Jose reportedly confessed to being responsible for two earlier attacks on the senator’s home.

He told officers that this latest attack was his third attempt on the property.

Residents recognised him as someone frequently seen loitering near the house in recent months.

Before the police secured him, angry youths attempted to lynch him on the spot.

Security agents intervened and shielded him from mob action before whisking him away.

Several accomplices managed to escape with weapons through nearby bushes.

Security forces are currently searching for the fleeing suspects across neighbouring communities.

Second Attack in Two Months

This latest incident follows a similar assault on the senator’s family home on April 15, 2025.

Senator Natasha’s Chief Press Secretary, Isreal Arogbonlo, confirmed the fresh attack in a press release.

He urged the public to remain calm and patient as the law takes its course.

He said intimidation and violence must never become tools against truth and service.

Security remains tight around the senator’s residence following the renewed threat.
