Thousands of residents in Ibadan have taken to the streets to protest against rising insecurity in Nigeria, joining similar demonstrations reported in other states across the country.
During the protest, participants were seen chanting slogans calling for urgent government intervention and the release of abducted school children and teachers. One of the chants that echoed through the crowd was: “Tinubu ole, Tinubu ole, release our teachers and children, Tinubu ole.”
The demonstration comes amid growing public concern over a recent wave of abductions and attacks in parts of the country, which has intensified calls for stronger security measures.
Protesters expressed frustration over what they described as the worsening state of insecurity, urging authorities to act swiftly to protect lives and restore safety across communities.
The protests, which have continued to gain momentum, reflect increasing anger among citizens who are demanding accountability and immediate solutions to the security challenges affecting several regions.
