Tinubu’s strategy for 2027, by Emeka Ugwuoju

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

It’s clear that Tinubu did not truly win in 2023, which is why certain INEC results and forms remain hidden from public view even today.

As he gears up for 2027, he faces a greater loss and is fully aware that rigging this time will be much more obvious to the world.

However, this does not seem to bother him. He still plans to rig heavily, but he is working on making the process appear cleaner.

His focus is on blinding the people with distractions while refining his rigging methods.

One of his main strategies is to capture the South-South states, as he believes he can always count on the South-West.

The South-East, on the other hand, poses a challenge, as they are not easily manipulated and may resist violently if provoked.

In 2027, Tinubu is likely to lose parts of the North and North-Central, as he did in 2023, but he has a proven method of using INEC to convince the public that he won.

In Lagos, he has already perfected his strategy, having successfully tested it during the last governorship elections.

By deploying touts, leveraging traditional rulers, and co-opting church leaders, he will secure the state through intimidation and coercion.

Here are his key strategies:

1. Control INEC, the Police, the Military, and the Judiciary:

Tinubu will ensure tight control over these institutions by showering their leaders with immense wealth and influence.

Any sign of disloyalty will result in swift removal.

By creating an environment where the heads of these organizations are indebted to him, he will secure their unwavering support in rigging the elections.

2. Weaken the PDP through Wike, INEC, and the Judiciary:

Tinubu will use Wike to neutralize the PDP, ensuring the party remains disorganized and ineffective.

Wike will become a permanent fixture in the PDP, preventing it from regaining strength.

Any legal challenges brought by the PDP will be manipulated by judges loyal to Tinubu, ensuring Wike always comes out on top. This will ultimately cause the PDP to disintegrate from within.

3. Destabilize the Labour Party:

Tinubu will use individuals like Abure and Apapa to create division within the Labour Party.

INEC, the police, and the judiciary will back Abure, who will continue to fight for control of the party through the courts.

Abure’s real goal will not be the party’s victory, but rather the destabilization of its efforts, for which Tinubu will handsomely reward him.

As a result, the Labour Party will fail to gain momentum, and any resistance will be met with force from the authorities.

4. Take Control of South-South States: Tinubu will target governorships and local government positions in South-South states. He has already succeeded in Edo, and his next focus will be on Rivers and Delta.

By using the judiciary and police, he will destabilize these states and install his own candidates. With control over the South-South, he will smooth the way for election manipulation, with INEC and the police ensuring favorable outcomes. The judiciary will be the final piece in securing his victory.

The question remains: how can the people break free from this capture? Unfortunately, the answer is not simple. The people must resist this manipulation with unwavering strength. Though it won’t be easy, if they stand firm, Tinubu will eventually retreat and abandon his grip on power.
