UPDATE: Unexplained Explosions Keep Ibadan Residents On Edge Despite Government Assurance

Residents of Ibadan are still on edge far into Tuesday night after unexplained explosion rocked a part of the city in the early evening.

According to people spoken to via phone by DDM, the reports say that people are uneasy, watchful and vigilant as government is yet to be categorical about the cause of the explosion.  “We need to know what has happened exactly,” said transport union officer to the online newspaper.

Oyo State government earlier urged resident in the capital to remain calm as security agencies are investigating the cause of the said explosion which occurred a few hours ago, according to statement by the state house.

Earlier there was a palpable tension in the city of as unexplained explosion rocked some parts of the city.

Among the areas affected by the unfortunate incident, which reportedly led to loss of lives and properties are Bodija, Agbowo, Eleyele, and Orogun.
