The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the full list of voter registration centres ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially begin on August 18, 2025, with both online and in-person options available.

INEC confirmed that 811 centres will operate across Nigeria.

These include all 774 local government offices and 37 state and FCT locations. Registration will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Online pre-registration starts on Monday, August 18, while physical registration follows on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Both will run side by side for one year, ending on August 30, 2026.

To help citizens locate the nearest registration point, INEC will launch a CVR Live Locator tool on August 17.

The tool will be accessible at: https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator.

INEC has also uploaded a 38-page document detailing the addresses of all 811 centres.

Dedicated phone lines for each state will serve as Help Desks for further questions.

The Commission stated that the registration process will follow the same method used in 2022.

New video guides and educational materials will be available next week.

In a related development, INEC has received 151 letters of intent from groups seeking to register new political parties.

Since July 23, eight more associations have submitted applications. The Commission’s party registration portal is now active.

INEC has started shortlisting groups that meet the basic criteria.

Full details of approved associations will be released after 16 bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, in 12 states.
