Electorates in Anambra State has decried and rejected the purported number of voters as released by the the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC].
The electorates were reacting to figures released by the INEC Collation Officer, Prof: F. Ogbonaya on Tuesday.
According to the figure released by Ogbonaya, the total number of the registered voters are 2,389,332.
On the other hand, the accredited voters are 675,273, which is a far cry from the registered voters.
Reacting to the figures during a phone-in programme on Authority Radio, some callers rejected the number projected by INEC.
One of the callers, Mr. Sunday Okafor claimed that the figure is a far cry as Anambra State voters, as well as the entire South East, witnessed a massive turn-out.
He wondered how 675,273 accredited voters claimed by INEC justify the 2,389,332 registered voters in a state that saw unprecedented massive turn-out of voters.
Another caller said that the figure has been heavily manipulated and did not reflect the exact number of voters accredited.
Many other caller also made similar claims.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP],Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was declared winner of the Presidential Election held on February 23 in the State.
He scored 524,738 votes to beat President Muhammadu Buhari who secured 33,298 votes.
