DHQ Mourns Ex-General Killed in Captivity, Vows Intensified Operations

ABUJA, Nigeria — The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Director of Defence Information, Rabe Abubakar, who reportedly died while being held by his abductors after a kidnapping incident.

In a statement issued on Saturday, military authorities described the late retired major general as a distinguished officer who served the nation with dedication and professionalism throughout his military career. The Defence Headquarters said his death represents a painful loss not only to his family but also to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the country as a whole.

The military high command extended its condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officer, acknowledging his contributions to national security and military public relations during his years of service.
