Nigerian singer SirRaheem, the son of billionaire industrialist Rasaq Okoya, has announced that he is stepping away from music as a professional career.
The artiste shared the news with his fans on X, explaining that his decision followed increasing difficulty in balancing music with his other responsibilities.
SirRaheem described his years in music as a rewarding experience, recalling the performances, projects and relationships he built throughout his journey. He also expressed gratitude to the fans, colleagues and supporters who contributed to his career.
According to the singer, music initially started as a hobby he enjoyed with friends. Over time, however, it developed into a serious professional pursuit.
He explained that his other commitments have made it increasingly difficult to dedicate the level of time and attention he believes music deserves.
Rather than continue releasing music without being able to give the craft his full commitment, SirRaheem said he felt it was more appropriate to make a professional exit.
However, his announcement does not necessarily mean fans have heard the last of his music.
The singer revealed that he has been working on an album and believes the project contains some of the strongest material he has created. He suggested that the unreleased project could eventually be made available, even though he is no longer planning to actively pursue music as a profession.
SirRaheem also stressed that stepping away from music does not mean he is abandoning his creative ambitions altogether. Instead, he intends to explore other areas and take on new challenges outside the music industry.
His decision comes after several years of building a career as an Afrobeats artiste while also taking on responsibilities within his family’s business.
Balancing both worlds has reportedly been a major consideration for him. As an executive director at Eleganza Group, SirRaheem has responsibilities outside entertainment that require his attention.
He has also ventured into other businesses. Earlier in 2026, he attracted attention after introducing a private bowling club with an annual membership fee of $5,000. The exclusive concept generated significant discussion online, particularly because of its premium pricing.
At the time, SirRaheem maintained that his business activities did not mean he had given up music.
His latest announcement, however, confirms that his professional priorities have changed.
While some fans may be disappointed by the news, SirRaheem’s comments suggest that the decision is not necessarily permanent. His acknowledgement that music remains personally meaningful to him leaves open the possibility that he could return to recording or releasing music at some point.
For now, the singer appears ready to focus on other aspects of his career while keeping the possibility of a musical comeback alive.
His exit also highlights a reality faced by many artistes: pursuing music professionally requires significant time, consistency and commitment, which can become difficult when other business and personal responsibilities demand attention.
SirRaheem’s journey may therefore be entering a new chapter rather than coming to a complete end. Although he has chosen to stop releasing new music professionally, the unreleased album and his continued connection to music mean his artistic story could still have another chapter.
