Governor Radda’s mother dies amid political tension

The mother of Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari, has passed away at the age of 83.

Katsina State, located in northwestern Nigeria, is known for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance.

As the homeland of the ancient Hausa civilization, the state boasts numerous historical landmarks, including forts and palaces that tell the story of its past.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, a family source confirmed that she died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness.

Her death has drawn widespread attention due to the ongoing political climate in Katsina State.

Many political figures, traditional rulers, and residents have expressed their condolences to Governor Radda and his family.

Hajiya Safara’u was widely respected for her wisdom, kindness, and generosity toward people of all backgrounds.

A close associate described her as a pillar of support who cared deeply for her family and community.

“She lived a life of humility and always ensured the well-being of those around her,” the associate said.

Her influence extended beyond her immediate family, as she played a key role in community development.

Aside from being Governor Radda’s mother, she was also the mother of other prominent figures in Katsina State.
