JUST IN: Another Air India plane makes emergency landing

An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi made an emergency landing on Friday after a bomb threat was discovered onboard.
The Airbus A320 aircraft, carrying 156 passengers, took off from Phuket International Airport at 9:30am local time but soon returned to the airport after the crew received the threatening message.
FlightRadar24 data shows the aircraft making a sharp U-turn over the Andaman Sea and circling multiple times near the island’s coastline before safely returning to Phuket.
All passengers were evacuated from the plane without incident, according to Airports of Thailand officials.
Initial inspections revealed no explosives or suspicious items on board.
This scare comes less than 24 hours after an Air India flight en route to London crashed in Ahmedabad, India, resulting in the deaths of at least 265 people, including casualties on the ground.
Indian airlines and airports received nearly 1,000 hoax bomb threats in the first 10 months of last year, almost 10 times more than in 2022.
Meanwhile, authorities have not released further details about the nature of the threat or any subsequent investigation, but updates are expected as the situation develops.
