Anambra Government gives scholarship to 8 year old math prodigy
The Anambra State Government has awarded a full-time scholarship, on August 7, 2024, to eight-year-old mathematics prodigy, Master Chukwuemeka Nwuzor, featured in a viral video solving math problems some weeks ago.
Dr. Nonye Soludo, the governor’s wife, announced the scholarship for Master Chukwuemeka after meeting him and his family.
She stated that the award covers his entire education from primary school through any level he chooses.
Master Chukwuemeka, featured in a viral video, answered various math questions correctly, including advanced formulas and numerical equations.
Mrs. Soludo, upon discovering the boy is from Nibo, Awka South, quickly found his family after launching a search.
At the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, the governor’s wife met with the boy, his father, and his younger brother.
She brought a calculator and tested the boy with questions on formulas, equations, and structures, all of which he answered correctly.
Mrs. Soludo announced that she will sponsor the boy’s education from primary through any future level and offer mentorship for his potential.
She stated: “Chukwuemeka’s breed is rare among mankind, and he has incredible talent.
“I have pledged to give him all the support he needs to grow, starting from the scholarship to any level.
“I also advised the parents not to put him under pressure by forcing him up in classes but instead allow him to walk at a pace that grows his talent better.”

Chukwuebuka Anyaduba: Master Anyaduba, a young scholar from Anambra, received the prestigious NNPC/Chevron National University Scholarship.
His academic brilliance and commitment to his studies led to this significant achievement, providing financial support for his tertiary education.
Ogechukwu Ezechukwu: Ogechukwu, from Anambra State, achieved outstanding results in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Her exceptional performance earned her recognition and scholarships from various organizations and institutions.
Divine Rays British School, Idemili North: Six students from Divine Rays British School, Idemili North, Anambra, won the 2024 National Mathematics Competition.
The competition, held across designated states, featured categories for lower primary, upper primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary students.
These brilliant students secured six Gold medals in the primary session of the competition.
Their names are: Okonkwo Chiziterem, Ezievuo Kosiso S., Nwabueze Chikamso S., Okoye Emmanuella C., Okonkwo Amarachi J., and Uche Chiemerie Victoria.
