Anne Hathaway has addressed ongoing speculation about her appearance, firmly denying rumours that she recently underwent a facelift.
The Hollywood star, 43, first sparked conversation in March after sharing an Instagram video demonstrating a beauty technique used by her hairstylist, Orlando Pita. In the clip, Hathaway explained that two carefully placed braids near her temples were used to subtly lift the eye area during red-carpet styling.
Despite her explanation, the video fueled widespread assumptions online, with many social media users suggesting she had undergone cosmetic procedures.
Speaking in a recent interview with ELLE Magazine, Hathaway admitted that the rumours had grown too prominent to ignore. Known for typically avoiding public commentary on discussions about her looks, the actress said the level of speculation compelled her to respond.
She expressed concern over how easily opinions are often presented as facts, even without evidence.
Clarifying the situation, Hathaway stated that her altered appearance was not the result of surgery but simply the effect of the hairstyling technique.
“It’s just two braids,” she explained.
While she described facelift surgery as a serious medical decision, Hathaway noted that she is not entirely opposed to the idea in the future. However, she emphasised that her recent look had nothing to do with undergoing any cosmetic enhancement.
