Alhaji Muhammadu Besse, a former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Koko Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has died in captivity.

He was abducted alongside his friend, Muhammed Maibarga, earlier in June.

However, Maibarga, an Islamic cleric of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Ikamatis-Sunnah (JIBWIS), died in captivity three weeks ago.

Before his death, bandits released a video showing the late Besse and his cleric friend being tortured and humiliated inside the forest.
