Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has sparked controversy online following a heated exchange with content creator Solomon Buchi over comments made at a funeral ceremony in the United Kingdom.
The drama began after Cubana Chiefpriest posted that he was “chilling outside the cemetery” during the burial of Denis Ukonho, a late associate of music star Davido. The remark quickly drew backlash from social media users, many of whom described it as insensitive and disrespectful given the solemn nature of the occasion.
Reacting to the post in a viral video, Solomon Buchi criticised the socialite, questioning his sense of decorum despite his wealth.
“The worst thing that can happen to a man is to be rich but lack class. Imagine someone saying, ‘We are chilling outside the cemetery.’ Even at a cemetery, where the dead are buried, he’s still trying to prove himself,” Buchi said.
In response, Cubana Chiefpriest dismissed the criticism, attributing Buchi’s comments to a lack of financial success.
“Your own na to sit down dey talk about successful people, poor man & opinion,” he fired back on social media.
The exchange quickly escalated, with Cubana Chiefpriest defending his lifestyle and status, even boasting about his multi-billion naira mansion in his hometown.
The public clash has since generated mixed reactions online, with many users debating the balance between wealth, social behaviour, and respect, particularly in sensitive settings such as funerals.
