Chinese worker dies after collapsing at Kogi factory

A Chinese national employed as a supervisor at BN Ceramics in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, has died after collapsing while on duty.

The unfortunate incident was confirmed by the police

The deceased, identified as 47-year-old Mr. Luo Zhi Mao, according to reports, slumped at around 6:30pm on August 2 while working in the Press Department of the ceramics company.

He was first taken to Covenant Hospital in Ajaokuta before being referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja.

However, due to an ongoing strike by medical personnel at the FMC, he was later transferred to Shifaah Hospital in Lokoja.

Mr. Luo was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30pm on August 5 at Shifaah Hospital.

His remains have since been deposited at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be carried out.

Although authorities are still investigating the cause of death, sources say there is currently no suspicion of foul play.

BN Ceramics management has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
