Edo PDP wants To State Tribunal Over Governorship Election Results
The Edo PDP ( Peoples Democratic Party) is taking their concerns about the governorship election results to the state tribunal .
They are rejecting the final results as announced by INEC, citing that it doesn’t reflect the will of the people and has not met the minimum standards for democracy .
The PDP believes the results don’t align with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines for the election .
It’s clear they’re not going down without a fight they said.
Meanwhile, Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says they have filed a petition before the state tribunal.
This, it said, is in a bid to reclaim what it described as the stolen mandate of the party given to its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, in the recently held election.
This was disclosed by the party’s Chairman, Anthony Aziegbemi and the Director General of the party’s campaign organisation, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen at a media briefing which held at the PDP secretariat in Benin City.
Anthony used the opportunity to respond to allegations that the party had chosen to disrupt the process of inspection of electoral materials as mandated by an expert order obtained by the PDP.
Matthew Iduoriyekemwen is so determined that the party will emerge victorious in the long run.
They want PDP stalwarts and other well-meaning Nigerians to keep faith and hope for the best.
