Former Minister of Education, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili has dragged the Senior Special Assistant To President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu through the gutters over his recent article dedicated to his principal.
In the article, which was titled “Buhari: A President’s 32” TV” and published by Elombah.com earlier today, Mallam Shehu was full of all sorts of praises for President Buhari.
Shehu, in the article, was referring to a picture taken as Buhari watched the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on his 32” TV by Bayo Omoboriowo, Buhari’s Personal Photographer.
He also reminded his readers how Buhari was a disciplined retired military General who lived a simple and austere life devoid of ostentation.
How he was not known to have the common vices associated with politics and politicians as he does not smoke or drink alcohol.
He told how Buhari did not belong to rich or royal families and known to have grown up with an enthusiastic desire to serve and his choice to serve in the army was not, therefore by accident.
Not minding that Buhari has spent more days abroad on medical vacation outside Nigeria, he told how he, even at 74, “is known to enjoy a better health status than people much younger” and how he recovered from the recent bout of illness.

An evidently highly-irritated Madam Ezekwesili could not stomach what she termed “genuflecting sycophancy” as she perused through the paragraphs and fired unreserved salvos in the direction of Mallam Shehu [right].
Referring to Shehu as some sort of comedian, she wrote some really scathing phrases to him on her Twitter handle viz:
“Why not move over to Nollywood and write scripts for their movies? Can’t you folks learn that governance is a serious matter?”
“Our public officials fail to #Benchmark what they spend their time on against their contemporaries in say, emerging economies. It’s tragic.”
“When information comes out from the stable of the President of a country, citizens should want to take it serious. Stop your comedies pls.”
“The sort of genuflecting sycophancy that you, @GarShehu have written on the Pres @MBuhari makes it difficult for you to tell him the truth.”
“No one who works with a leader&spends their time “singing their praises” is of Value to them. Face your work, people. Face your real work!
Some followers of Mrs Ezekwesili cold help agreeing with her as they placed icings on the cakes of Ezekwesili’s motherly rebukes.

Joshua Anar @anarjoshie wrote:
“So true Ma! Even in ancient kingdoms, praise singers were hired &equipped. Kings didnt expect knights & advisers to double as praise singers”
The Convener of Igbo Ekunie, Mazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, taking to WhatsApp, added:
“Thanks to Madam due process for knocking some little sense into these guys.”
On his part, the Publisher of of Elombah.com, Daniel Elombah, concluded: “Nigeria and it’s actors sometimes make you wana puke!”
