Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has shared an emotional account of his early struggles, revealing how he hustled to survive and eventually became the breadwinner of his family.
Speaking candidly, the artist disclosed that he did not complete his education, explaining that financial hardship forced him into street hustling at a young age.
“I no finish school. The time wey I dey go school, I sell pure water. I no see anybody to sponsor me,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Portable expressed determination to return to his studies, noting that he is still affiliated with Kwara State Polytechnic.
“I will still finish school. I be student of Kwara Poly,” he added.
The singer also reflected on his family background, revealing that while his father sponsored his siblings’ education, he was often seen as the less promising one.
“My papa send my brothers and sisters go school, na me be ‘olodo,’ but now, na me dey feed all of them,” he stated.
