The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, WAEC announced:
“UPDATE: 2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released. Generate your PIN at waec.org and check your results on waecdirect.org.”
How to check your result
Candidates are required to:
1. Generate a PIN and Serial Number on the WAEC portal.
2. Visit the WAEC result-checking portal.
3. Enter their:
Examination Number
Personal Identification Number (PIN)
Serial Number
Examination Year
4. Submit the details to view their results.
The PIN generation process may require the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, along with contact details for OTP verification.
About 1.96 million candidates from over 24,200 secondary schools across Nigeria sat for the examination, which was conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026. The examination featured both the traditional paper-based format and an expanded computer-based testing (CBT) option.
WAEC had earlier indicated that the results would be released approximately 45 days after the final paper, and Wednesday’s release fulfills that timeline.
