Nigeria’s First Lady Senator, Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser, Mr Nuhu Ribadu will lead a national prayer session against economic hardship.

The initiative, which is been coordinated by Christian and Muslim religious leaders, seeks divine intervention for the country’s social, economic, and security issues, under the theme ‘Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs.’

Chief Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF), disclosed this in Abuja, stressing the importance of unity in overcoming Nigeria’s crises.

He explained that Muslim participants for the national prayer will gather at the National Mosque in Abuja, where 313 huffaz (those who memorise the Quran) will recite the Quran daily for seven days. By the conclusion of this event, the Quran will have been recited a total of 2,191 times, all dedicated to the nation’s stability.

On the final day, participants will collectively offer 10,000 salats, resulting in a grand total of 3,310,000 prayers for national prosperity. Additionally, special ulamas will be engaged in the recitation of Allah’s sacred names throughout the week.

He also stated that Christian prayer warriors from various denominations will gather at the National Ecumenical Centre for seven days, fervently praying for divine intervention and protection against forces affecting the country.

“It is our intention for National Security Adviser Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu to lead the Muslim prayer sessions, while Her Excellency Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu will lead the Christian sessions,” Afolorunikan shared.

He stressed that the initiative holds great significance, saying, “This is a crucial national task, and we have faith that God will respond to the prayers of His people in this time of need.”
