Nigerian content creator and skit maker Carter Efe has responded to Babcock University following its official statement distancing itself from a viral certificate linked to him.

The controversy began after Carter Efe, during a livestream, claimed that the institution had awarded him an honorary certificate. However, Babcock University quickly refuted the claim in a press statement shared on its official Instagram page, describing the certificate circulating online as fraudulent.

The university also clarified that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic performance and has no degree classification known as “First Class Upper.” It further hinted at possible legal action over the matter.

Reacting during another livestream, Carter Efe appeared unfazed by the development, claiming the university was trying to reach him.

“I hear say una dey find me. Una no go see me until una pay N100,000 ticket for me. Una no go see me,” he said.

He also added that he would eventually visit the university, though he maintained his stance in a tone many interpreted as defiant and humorous.

The exchange has since sparked widespread reactions online, with some viewing Carter Efe’s response as satire typical of his content style, while others believe the situation could escalate if legal steps are pursued.
